Los Angeles Lakers point guard, Steve Nash, will likely miss today’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Nash’s status is officially listed as “Doubtful” although he was able to participate in Thursday’s practice. Nash suffered a bruise on his lower leg in Wednesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers. “Luckily, it’s not anything major or structural. It’s just a contusion in a bad area,” Nash said. “Maybe I’m too optimistic to say doubtful, but it’s definitely touch and go.”

Nash collided with Portland rookie Damian Lillard and left with 2:26 remaining in the second quarter on Wednesday. He tried to play again after halftime, but lasted just more than a minute on the court before Blake subbed in for him. Nash spent the rest of the game icing his leg and getting treatment in the locker room. The 38 year old point guard was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Lakers during this offseason, a move that many analysts expected would make the Lakers top contenders in the Western Conference.
