The Chicago Bears announced that QB Jay Cutler has been cleared to play, and could start in this week’s game. Cutler had been dealing with a thumb injury for the last five weeks, but with the injury to Brian Hoyer, the Bears were in dire need of a starting QB.

It’s unclear whether Cutlers return was hastened by Hoyer’s injury, but either way, Chicago won’t have to start Matt Barkley as previously feared.
