Observations from Wednesday’s MLB LCS Games

Nobody could have expected the performance we saw out of Marco Estrada. 7+ innings of one-hit ball and the Jays bats came alive like you’d hope they would with their backs against the wall. Heading back to KC, where it will be David Price’s turn to save the season.

A trip to the World Series was basically set up on a tee, with Edinson Volquez pitching with a chance to clinch. Instead Volquez only went 5 innings, giving up 5 runs (all earned). At least they return home, but it won’t be easy to score runs against Price.

Nobody is hotter than Daniel Murphy right now. He has homered in six straight games which is a post-season record. This Mets team is a freight train, but you can’t help but notice how flat they looked when Cespedes left the game early with a sore shoulder. Hopefully it’s nothing major and he can be ready for Game 1 of the 2015 World Series.

Any real Cubs fan will tell you that this team is still a year or two away from peaking, which makes this post-season run all the more impressive. But even with that glimmer of hope for the future, you never want to waste a playoff opportunity since nothing is guaranteed beyond today.
