Arians: Palmer Won’t Travel to San Francisco, Stanton to Start

Carson Palmer is not fully recovered from the concussion he suffered on Sunday against the LA Rams, and as a result will not make the trip with the team as the Arizona Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday.

Palmer suffered the concussion late in last week’s game against the Rams, as his head violently hit the turf following a sack. He appeared groggy heading to the sidelines and was unable to return to the game. With the Cardinals turning around on a short week, there was little chance that Palmer would be able to pass concussion protocol.

This means that Drew Stanton, probably more famous for his sideline celebrations than actual play, will get the start for AZ.
